A bit Damp, A bit blown about, but ok.

It has been an intense week or so here. But we are ok. There is a lot of water around so travelling safely about is still an issue. Which would also explain the lack of goods at the supermarkets we can get to. But luckily today, Tim ventured further afield and came back victorious, with a bottle of milk. So Priorities of course… Coffee.

We were exceptionally lucky and I know there are so many people here still waiting for power. So many hard working emergency workers and energex workers out there clearing roads and getting power sorted as fast as they safely can. My advice is keep out of the way. While going for a look sounds like a good idea, there are people waiting for services and us burning around checking out the devastation, just makes it harder and slower.

We are crafters – lets just stay in… and craft.

So… In stress crafting tradition I started some extra projects… I hope I finish them all, they seemed like good idea’s at the time. I know some I started while I was sick and then my sick week became Cyclone Alfred week… and all those days kinda blend together.

So first New cab off the rank – The Mussleburgh. You would think I would have made one or ten of these by now, but they have it has just sat languishing in the queue. well not anymore! https://www.ravelry.com/projects/FiberificChanti/musselburgh

Then I started a crochet shirt… its inspired by the shape of Tidepool Rectangle Tee – This will be a LONG term project because intead of the nice airy brick stitch the designer has used – I have decided I don’t want to have to layer this Tee. So I am going with a Crochet Linen Stitch instead, using the cotton crush colours and the Arctic I had in my stash. So far it feels very nice – and it is not at all hard on my brain. https://www.ravelry.com/projects/FiberificChanti/tidepool-rectangle-tee#

And Finally I started and FINISHED – including ends woven in and Ravelry Update The Chunky Beanie from Kelsie at PassioKnit. I started this one to help a friend with some mathing.. and then decided… well I may as well Finish it. I used Panda Crypto and the Chain method for making 1 ball into 3 strands, to make it EXTRA CHONKY. It was a lot of fun. AND a nice project to have a win with. I don’t know about you, but sometimes, I need that. https://www.ravelry.com/projects/FiberificChanti/passioknit-chunky-knit-beanie
