What is going on!!!

Oh so nice of you to ask…snerk… Next week I will have my first ever stall at the Craft and Quilt Fair at Southbank (in Brisbane) It runs from October 5 to October 9! I will be at stall J06! You should absolutely come and say Hi!

Now while I am out living life large at Southbank, I will not be able to ship orders. But I am going to try something a bit different and just block sales on the things I will be taking with me.. So I will block all yarn, fibre and Chiaogoo, but everything else will be fine.. I hope.. 😉 Just take a few days longer to ship out..

Now for those of you going to the Craft and Quilt fair I have added in a temporary Free Post Collect at the Fair option to shipping! So if you want say Nancy’s knit knack yarn meter.. but you will be at the show.. I can bring it! And you can come and collect it!  Or if you order this week and collect it at the show.. we can do that too!!! If you let me know what day you will be coming to the fair that would be super helpful too!!

See you there!!!

Trying to get the Hang of things

What a week! To be honest it does feel longer! But 1 week ago went live.. I have been learning lots of new things about online ordering, and what can happen when your postage calculator glitches!! I am sorry about this, most things should charge satchel prices now, if your items can fit in an envelope, I promise to refund the postage difference. I made my first ticket request on a plug in.. lets see how long they take to fix it!

This week I got out the spinning wheel for the first time in a long time! I have started spinning up some gorgeous Daenerys, from IxCHeL’s Rare sheeps breed club! So delicious to spin! I have done about 1/3 in what will end up in a 2ply construction of sock weight..ish..hopefully.

I am still working on my socks from the Hermiones Socks that we started AAAAAges ago. I have only added a couple of rows.. working on toe decreases then the graft.. then cast on the 2nd sock.. I know, I KNOW! I am so far behind, I have been looking at the pictures in the Fiberific Ravelry Group, which is really spurring me along!

Hermione's Socks

As I have been spending a LOT more time at my desk than usual.. it is a very.. desky desk.. it needed yarny prettiness. So I went forth and found a nifty little pattern to use some stashed Murano (Bendigo Woollen Mills) I can’t find the name or the link! If you know it, add it to the comments!

The Facebook page is only a couple of people away from 500, I am so excited.. I asked a little while ago if we thought a single prize for 1 random member or a discount for a the whole group. We have a poll in play if you want to have a vote!

I would like to be able to have a once a week website update and announce all the things together, but as I am still adding yarn and fibre and other odds and ends that I go, Oh NO that is not up yet! I will just add them when I remember, and do a bit of a weekly roundup instead.. just for now anyway.

New this week:

Gotland Fibre in their many gorgeous natural colours.

A new Massive ChiaoGoo delivery came, lots and lots of fixed circulars and crochet hooks all the way up to 25mm! These hooks are seriously HUGE!

And today last but most certainly not least a small, but delicious bundle of IxCHeL Magic Bunny!

Blue Moon Magic Bunny

Well I think this about does it for this weeks, blog.. I am sure I forgot something… should maybe write a list or something…

Until next week!

Fibreific Is Up and Running!!

Well hello there, this is the first of what I hope to  be many posts, keep us all updated on what is happening here at Fibertific. Fiberific is a fun word isn’t it? Fiberific….FIBERIFIC!! Thats it keep on saying it!   We love fibres and everything that can be done with them spinning, dyeing, knitting, crocheting, felting, weaving you name it, if it is fibre related we want in on it!!

A little bit about me, ok…. I am a crochet addict, I love crochet the best (see favoritism already lol)  It is my first craft so it holds a special place.  A few years ago I learned to knit in the continental style, this opened up the knitting world to me, before that I was a scarf only girl.  I now see a knitting pattern I love and instead of groaning, I add it to me ever increasing queue, or worse cast on and add it to the pile of WIPS (work in progress).  In July I attended the first ever Craft Yarn Council Teach the Teacher Program, in Australia.  This is the first course to be run outside of the United States. So having undertaken both Knitting and Crochet Certified Instructors Program, I have been having a blast teaching.  Initially I have been teaching privately in my home, but I want to teach more people so I am starting up a couple of beginners groups, details will be a bit further down.  I also pattern test, tech edit and some production work for the lovely ladies at Jenny King Designs on the Sunshine Coast.

Each week I will write up what I have been doing and what I have been working on and what classes and workshops are on.

So lets get the show on the Road.

This week, I have been madly organising a venue for my Beginner classes and the lovely booking staff at the Bethania Community Centre have been extremely helpful.
