I am slowly catching up on adding stock and dyeing yarn! Things are going a bit slower than planned as I spent a few days doing Easter Stuff with the Family then, last couple of days doing Birthday Things with the Little Miss.

I am gearing up for the Qld Spinners Open Day coming up on the new date of 7th May 2016! You should come and visit! I will be teaching a beginners crochet class too!

Happy New Years!! Kicking in 2016!!

2015 was such a big year for Fiberific!, one of the things I am most happy about was letting loose on the internet with this website.  It has had many challenges, and such a HUUUUGE learning curve, but I have enjoyed mostly all of it…

2016 is going to bring about some changes, big and small, ever evolving.  This year I will be attending some different events. Starting out the year with the Majacraft Magic 2016 Camp in February where I will be teaching some fun Double Ended Crochet Hook skills!

I am really looking forward to this adventure!!

I best be off, a new box of Chiaogoo has arrived and I want to play… I mean price it and put in on the website…

Have Fun!!

Wow, from one week to the next

Sitting here, trying to fix the shamozzle that is the postage for the website, and I have come to a realisation. I just can’t have everything I want. The plugin that gave me everything, didn’t work, so really it gave me nothing.  The new plugin that I thought would work and give me everything… works, but only on parcel post.  No letter sizes.  Just makes it so unfair for small orders that I could pop into an envelope.  Stamps foot.. full tanty time here. So for now, I am giving up.  What I will continue to do is, if something is small like Blinglets or a single set of needles, I will post in the least expensive way I can, and refund your paypal accounts.. I hate this but at the moment it is the best I can offer.

So not thinking about the evil postage debacle, Open Day Yesterday was brilliant.  I didn’t even get to take a picture, it was seriously a GO GO GO day. Caught up with old friends and made lots of new friends!  Taught a fantastic group of people for the Beginners Crochet Workshop, and I am hoping to see some gorgeous Chainy Cowls!

This week you will find me making lots of Blinglets, dyeing some Sunflower Sock yarn and then repacking the car to head on up to the Ipswich Historical Society Spinners and Weavers Camp and Maroon Dam!  I only take a selection of my goodies to this one, so if you have something you really want, send me a message and I will try to get it in!

I just can’t believe how busy this week and the next few will be, it won’t be long before I am heading off to Bendigo Sheep and Wool Show!  I am hoping to have some new surprises over the coming weeks.

Fibreific Is Up and Running!!

Well hello there, this is the first of what I hope to  be many posts, keep us all updated on what is happening here at Fibertific. Fiberific is a fun word isn’t it? Fiberific….FIBERIFIC!! Thats it keep on saying it!   We love fibres and everything that can be done with them spinning, dyeing, knitting, crocheting, felting, weaving you name it, if it is fibre related we want in on it!!

A little bit about me, ok…. I am a crochet addict, I love crochet the best (see favoritism already lol)  It is my first craft so it holds a special place.  A few years ago I learned to knit in the continental style, this opened up the knitting world to me, before that I was a scarf only girl.  I now see a knitting pattern I love and instead of groaning, I add it to me ever increasing queue, or worse cast on and add it to the pile of WIPS (work in progress).  In July I attended the first ever Craft Yarn Council Teach the Teacher Program, in Australia.  This is the first course to be run outside of the United States. So having undertaken both Knitting and Crochet Certified Instructors Program, I have been having a blast teaching.  Initially I have been teaching privately in my home, but I want to teach more people so I am starting up a couple of beginners groups, details will be a bit further down.  I also pattern test, tech edit and some production work for the lovely ladies at Jenny King Designs on the Sunshine Coast.

Each week I will write up what I have been doing and what I have been working on and what classes and workshops are on.

So lets get the show on the Road.

This week, I have been madly organising a venue for my Beginner classes and the lovely booking staff at the Bethania Community Centre have been extremely helpful.
