And time keeps marching on!

I am not going to dwell on how long it has been since my last blog… I plan to be a better blogger.

I have been having so much fun going to Spinning Camps and retreats, and while I do have my shop there, I also get to shop, at the Gold Coast Spinners Camp in early April I bought the most gorgeous bag of Alpaca, all carded and blended.. a white and black fleece blended into a beautiful grey.  I am completely in love with this fleece, Alpaca is not normally a fibre I tend to play with much, but when I saw this is it had to be MINE!! I can’t wait to see what the Gorgeous Girls from Heminninghills Alpaca’s turn up with next!

As you can see I have been having a bit of fun with it already!!
Now some of you may know that I will be heading down to Bendigo for the Annual sheep and Wool show in July.  I am a Queenslander born and bred.  I have not really spent all that much time in the colder climes of our southern states.  So I am planning on the fact that I will be FREEZING… So this week I have taken stock of my warmer clothing… Turns out I have a great jacket and some jeans, a pair of comfy boots.  And a really warm beanie a friend made me (thank you Kate!)  But I am missing some little pieces… My hands turn to icicles here in Brisbane in winter, so I am thinking in Bendigo they will turn to solid ice bricks.
With that thought in mind, I had a rummage, and turned up the most delicious 3 ply angora yarn that I recieved from Charly…. aka Ixchelbunny, with the gorgeousness in my lap I trawled Ravelry and found the perfect pattern…. Joan Crawford Gloves and  Angora 3 ply are a match made in heaven!! 50g is all that is needed! Gotta love that!

If you would like to make something gorgeous like this Charly has some Angora 3 ply available on her blog, be quick, limited numbers 50g $22.  SO worth it!

But I have been making pretty things for you too, do you want to see????
I have made a few tweaks to the Mohair Nests.  It has been way too fun!

 50g Rainbow Nest $15

This is a nest that I have spun up, 50g came out to about 280m, I plyed with a purple overlocker thread.  As I said I have been having way too much fun, I have even started crocheting up a basic scarf with the mohair, it feels gorgeous and silky. I will post pics in the coming weeks.

Well I am gonna go and do something exciting, like wash the dogs or other such fun things lol… Have a great weekend.  If you want to hear more of my antics, I tend to facebook ALOT… so like my page and tag along

  1. My recommendation – fingerless mittens 🙂

You can still knit, do stuff with money, and just about anything else you need to do, while never having to take them off!!

    See you at Bendi!
